Role: Interaction Designer
The Fiat connected car solution allows owners of low rated Fiat vehicles to plug in their personal devices (Android or iPhone) into their car and use these as both their in-car entertainment station and their mobile car management system.
As an in-car device, the app functions as a radio and music player, requiring just a few gestures to control what is being played, and playing volume.
Beyond entertainment, this service provides system-level data revealing information about the car in a salient way. For example, users are given continuous access to information regarding their fuel levels, tail light fixes, and other notifications, as well as last parked location mapping and directions
CAR DASHBOARD
The home screen works as a car dashboard, showing car and driving stats, as well as some contextual information such as weather, time and temperature.
MUSIC PLAYER
Music can be browsed by Artist, Playlist, or Album. Drivers can look for a track or album to play by browsing by artist. Once a track is selected the playing screen allows drivers to control the song setting, such as volume levels and pausing the track.
RADIO
Drivers can tune a station via the frequency range line and jump to a saved station by tapping one of the options displayed on the presets menu.
GENERAL GESTURES
A 2 finger swipe horizontally on any screen, triggers the volume control screen overlay to appear, allowing the driver to increase or decrease the volume. A 2 finger swipe vertically on any screen, triggers the track list screen overlay to appear, allowing the driver to play the previous and next track or browse the track list.
