superintelligent organisation (AI exploration)
How might we leverage AI and the collective intelligence of employees, users, and third-party experts to enhance business operations and help lifelong learners engage with, discover, and co-create the future of learning?
CONTEXT
Blinkist is an app that helps people learn quickly and on the go with 15-minute bite-sized book summaries from bestselling non-fiction authors, “shortcasts”, and expert-led guides, with a wide range of topics (e.g. business, personal development, parenting, science, philosophy, psychology, politics, and culture).
Issues: (1) too many books, it isn’t easy to choose what to read next; (2) it can be frustrating to jump from one book to another so quickly; (3) summaries require active listening; (4) there is no system to rate the summaries.
PROPOSAL
With multiple Superminds, Blinkist can operate more efficiently by streamlining key business functions and making quicker, data-driven decisions that improve product features and personalised recommendations, and inform future product and experience strategies.
Superminds as an organisation.
Leveraging AI and collective intelligence will enhance operations across R&D, Sales and Marketing, and Human Resource Management.
This collaborative, insights-driven approach will change how Blinkist works internally and strengthen the platform by outperforming competitors and meeting/exceeding user expectations.
Creating possibilities for action:
The R&D team engages everyone, drives innovation and builds a business and product strategy (or roadmap).
Sense the external world:
The Sales and Marketing team adapts to emerging market trends and consumer needs, expanding its reach to a broader customer base.
Learning from experiences:
The Human Resource Management team hires, retains, trains, and structures a flexible, collaborative team culture and recruits individuals with interpersonal skills to meet the new demands of a highly collaborative team.

The HR Supermind:
how AI and humans collaborate to build the team itself.
Combining computers and humans, the HR Supermind analyses market trends and identifies emerging skills needed to build a future collective intelligence culture.
Superminds can tailor training programmes based on industry insights from experts to up-skill existing employees and redefine their job responsibilities, including technical processes and collaboration.

The Content Creation Supermind:
how AI and humans collaborate to create and curate content while prioritising high-quality insights over speed.
Currently, Blinkist already uses AI to help its writers produce new summary drafts faster (source: 2024).
